Biography

Dr Wright graduated from the University of Edinburgh School of Medicine in 2002. She undertook early postgraduate training in the South-East of Scotland, followed by a 2 year programme of research based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh leading to the award of MD, with studies focusing on the effects of hypoglycaemia on the brain and vasculature. She then trained in Endocrinology & Diabetes in Newcastle upon Tyne and the North-East of England between 2008 and 2015. Subsequently, she has returned to Lothian to take up her consultant post at St John’s Hospital in Livingston in 2015, where she is involved in endocrinology and diabetes clinics, and general medicine.

 

She has an interest in adolescent and young adult health, and is actively involved in several national initiatives aimed at improving health in young people, and transition from paediatric services.
