Biography

Emily McMurray studied medicine at the Queen’s University of Belfast, graduating in 2002.  Her training was largely based in Belfast, and included a two year period of research looking at the effect of eplerenone on insulin action.  She was awarded an MD for this work from Queen’s University of Belfast in 2011.  Emily spent a year working in Hôpital Cochin in Paris, focusing on Cushing’s disease and adrenal pathology.

She moved back to Scotland to take up her Consultant job in the Western General Hospital in 2013, where she is involved in diabetes and endocrinology clinics, the DAFNE course for patients with Type 1 diabetes and a teenage and young adult cancer follow up clinic.
